Thank you. And thank you. I wouldn't do 'em if they didn't trouble at least a bit...

You start off my day with giggles and grins, and then end it with this?! This is not a complaint. It's just the dichotomous nature of a world that I do not want to welcome anyone to.

Thank you, Fran. It's a beautiful world, let's welcome folks to it, maybe they'll make it better...?!?

I didn't mean to see it as a Doomsday scenario. My anger is at our new Department of Christian Nationalism.

Does this include fighter jets sliding off aircraft carriers?

Sigh. I lived in the Theocracy that is Utah and even THAT wasn't as overt as this situation. Every elected official needs to publicly be calls out for their participation in all of this religious nonsense- especially Democrats. It's beyond ridiculous

I am having a bale of sage delivered to the Pentagon. Ya gotta start somewhere.

Okay, ya gotta explain this!

Jonathan, you obviously need more woo-woo in your life! Burning sage is a common technique of our Indigenous forbearers and other cultures, too... to rid areas contaminated with what I like to call "The Ick" of reprobates, charlatans and evil-doers of all sorts... It's the anti-Stephen Miller! https://alifewellbalanced.com/how-to-sage-your-house/

It sounds delightful, but can I partake sans woo-woo? I feel like I've had enough woo-woo for multiple Ernst lifetimes...

Expand full comment
TM's avatar

You absolutely can. But it tends to work more betterer if you at least give one woo the benefit of the doubt in my experience. Performative woo? Maybe, but it beats being mad all day.

Jonathan Larsen's avatar

Ah, my bad. By woo-woo I thought you meant belief in the supernatural. I promise I get lots of delight and non-mad-being without it!

Your definition is correct but I don't have an opinion about whether the saging works if you don't think it will! My mother always told me (regarding chicken soup), "It couldn't hurt!" 🤣

Yes, and many thanks that you are in the forefront covering these demented crusaders. MSM is too deferential in allowing religions to have a cover of "respectability."

This Potteiger character looks _very_ suspicious. He says he has a master's degree but doesn't specify where from. His "classical Christian" schtick is as thin on actual intellectual content as it is studded with ROFLMFAO faux-archaic usages. I'd bet a clean benjamin he has a criminal record back in good old PA, too. More please...

It’s not ironic there are no women anywhere in your references except for someone’s wife who I’m certain does EVERYTHING he orders.

And the pentagon preaching is incidious (sp) and is way worse than a pentagram.

I’m starting to understand why Protestants and Baptists and evangelical types don’t like Catholics….. They seem to want to pray to some other type of Jesus?

Over 50% of Catholics who voted in the last election, voted for Trump. Many Catholic US Bishops are apologists for Trump. No excusing Catholicism says the former Catholic.
