The evangelical churches groom people to accept without question the minister’s interpretation of the Bible. Otherwise, intelligent people would not accept things that are so crosswise with what Jesus said. Drollinger must twist his mind into a pretzel coming up with these interpretations to support what he already wanted. It’s sad and shameful that people fall for these charlatans. None of this belongs in government.

The only thing I do not understand is what makes Drollinger's opinions about the bible sacrosanct? He's just another nutter with an opinion. I'm sure there are plenty of bible scholars who oppose his views. Why aren't they speaking out against him?

"The lesson laid the groundwork for a police state, making the case for Drollinger’s belief in five separate domains: Church, government, family, church, and commerce."

I note you mention church twice. So is Drollinger a dollar store knock off of Christian Dominion theory and Seven Mountains patriarchal christer fascism, minus a couple of mountains? I think the seven mountains are family, religion, education, media, entertainment, business, and government. And Christian males are to have dominion over all. Derived from the Book of Revelations and the fixation therein the number seven: seals, trumpets, bowls - the only book in the Bible these folks seem to get any real direction from. Written by who knows, under the influence of who knows what. Some bad mushrooms maybe?

That was a mistake. Marriage was the missing institution. I fixed it, thanks.

The complete ruin of this country, assuming it won't be totally destroyed for all people by the idiots in government, is religion. It is fantasy at best, and alienating and deadly at worst.

THAT'S why the first sentence of the first amendment to the Constitution states..."Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion...".

It disgusts me that the immoral people who have been put in powerful positions in government choose to uphold the parts of the Constitution that they can exploit for their personal gain, and ignore those they do not like.

The writers of the Constitution might not have covered everything perfectly forever...it's not chiseled in stone, but a working, foundational document...but they sure as hell saw the downfall of nations over & over throughout history every time anyone claimed they were chosen by God to rule. I hope we reclaim that better nobility, the pledge of strength being in diversity & cooperation, the sharing of power.

If there's anything more disturbing than the crack crazy obvious bullshit rationalization to seize power ...it's charging in a supernatural crusade. There is no mooring there, no common cause or principles. It's just batshit insanity & whim built on insanity & whim. Surreal.

Drollinger juggles words to play both sides of the Jewish issue. I would like some journalist to ask Drollinger, point-blank and in public, one question: "Should practicing Jews ("unconverted" Jews) be hired to influential government positions and elected to public office?" His answer would unmistakably identify him as regards antisemitism.

Petty comment but I never noticed the guy’s pointy devil beard in that photo on her left! Then the thought occurred to me, will future generations be told (or have to tell themselves) that all these cartoonishly evil villains were just AI in its emergence?

We must regain separation of church and state. Religious study of any kind should be in personal time and never on public time and never in any government office, facility or gathering. None.

"White House Bible study that teaches that Jews crucified Jesus"

I just sent Preacher Drollinger (bless his heart) a quick email reminding him that he is leaving out another key part of the story. The Jews kidnap good Christian children so they can kill them -- following the rules of Shechita (ritualized slaughter) so they can use the blood when baking their matzos. I expect an updated study guide any day now.

-----

"Last year, as governor of South Dakota, Noem signed a law adopting the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) definition of antisemitism, which includes “claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel.”

This, as you said Mr Larsen, that was last year; that was then, this is now. But what can you expect from a governor banned from setting foot in ~17% of their state?

-----

"But those Christian candidates, once in office, would serve their constituents."

Damn them to eternal hellfire for the sin of being politicians who respect their constituents, and for (possibly, IDK) being Christians, ***real Christians*** that walk the walk following the actual teachings of the Christ rather than whatever bovine scat Drollinger & Co are spreading.
